Q Baby…

Yep, it’s what you think it is….

baby1We are pretty darn excited and can’t wait to meet Baby Q on June 10, 2010!

Eat your heart out, friends ūüôā

We wish you a Merry Christmas…

Last Friday, we had Christmas breakfast at the Quilico house. ¬†So here’s how it happened. ¬†My parents get Steve and I ski passes for Christmas. ¬†We buy them in October, so they send them to us then. ¬†My mom hates that we have our big Christmas present in October. ¬†So this year she sent a Christmas party in a box to us. ¬†We set up the party, made pancakes, played our Drew and Ellie Holcomb Christmas CD, and opened presents. ¬†There was gifts for everyone, even the dogs! ¬†(apparently, you cant’ find Christmas hats in October in GA, so my mom sent us Varsity hats to wear. ¬†once i realized she couldn’t find Christmas hats, I introduced her to a crazy store called Walmart…)

We had a great time, although the boys look a little drunk in the picture. ¬†Let me assure you, that is orange juice in the fun cups…..

Here is Ollie wearing his present proudly…

All in all, we had a very Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night ūüôā

It was Professor Plum, in the kitchen, with a lead pipe.

This weekend was sure an adventure!  Steve and I went to Gold Hill (right outside of Boulder) for a murder mystery dinner.  I did pretty good for being totally freaked out about anything remotely scary.

Gold Hill is just fabulous.  There are about 120 people that live there year round, and it is remote, homey, and a total mining town.  The actors and actresses for the murder mystery were just great.  They made it really fun and the team that Steve and I were on won!  We figured out the most about the murders (there were 2!).

When we left BV on Saturday, it was 60 degrees.  When we arrived in Gold Hill, it was 19 degrees.  And there was a few inches of snow on the ground.  The inn where we stayed had little space heaters in each room, which only heated a very small space.  Definitely not the whole room.  This was one night I was really glad that Steve is always so warm when he sleeps!

I did get a little creeped out, and when I woke up at 5 am to go to the bathroom (which was down the hall), I made Steve get up and go with me. ¬†One of the actresses had told me the inn was haunted (she said they were “friendly” spirits, but I don’t care at 5 am). ¬†Steve jumped out of bed and went to put his jeans on. ¬†Funny little detail–he actually grabbed my jeans. ¬†Watching him try and get them on was a riot. ¬†Needless to say, they didn’t fit and he realized pretty quickly that those weren’t his jeans.

Here are two pics of us.  Notice my incredible photo editing skills with the second one.  We were dressed like 1959.  I was a housewife and Steve was a door-to-door salesman.

And Lolita, in the study, with a gun.

Cards and flowers!

Not the kind of cards you are thinking of. ¬†Actually, I’m talking about a deck of cards. ¬†Last night, I won at poker! (This is Leslie typing, just so you don’t think Steve won :)). ¬†There were 10 of us and I took home $50.00. ¬†YAY! ¬†It’s the second time ever that I’ve won. ¬†And that makes for a happy Saturday.

Another thing that makes for a happy Saturday is flowers. ¬†Steve bought me some beautiful flowers yesterday. ¬†And they just scream FALL!!! Which makes me even happier, because I absolutely love FALL. ¬†Just to brighten up your day too, I’ve included 2 pics of the flowers that are making our dining room table festive and fun.

sorry this one is sideways :(
