In the arms of Florida…

That’s a title from a Patty Griffin song.  And although Steve doesn’t have a clue who Patty Griffin is, he doesn’t get to pick the title because he is watching Seinfeld.  I sure like Patty, but I like Steve more.  And I just got to spend 5 days in Florida with Steve.  And my mom, dad, and sister!  There was a good time had by all.

We went fishing, had some serious skeeball competition, ate a bunch of seafood, went to the dog races, walked on the beach, and more than anything enjoyed the SUNSHINE.

Here are our highlights:Steve–caught a 10 ft. shark while deep sea fishing! Leslie–walked 9 miles with my mom while Steve was fishing.

Enjoy these pics from our trip…

The Quilico's

Overall, the first Goss/Quilico family vacation was a success.  Steve’s still watching Seinfeld.

Love to you all.

Introducing…The Burgess’!

I’m not sure how to do the apostrophe thingy on their last name, but the good news is that our friends Robin & Rachelle are married either way!  Steve was a groomsman in their wedding this past Saturday.  We had a blast celebrating with them all weekend!

The wedding was good colors–green, orange, brown.  The bride’s mother made the cake.  We danced a lot (Leslie made the playlist :)).  Steve loved the hot wings and pork bbq rolls.  Our friend Justin caught the garter.  Overall, it was a fun time.  And we celebrated even more by playing poker until the wee hours of the morning on Friday and Saturday.  I felt like I was in college again!

The head table looked a bit like what we imagine the Last Supper to look like, so Steve played John and leaned against the breast of Jesus.

It was truly a blast.  Robin has been one of Steve’s best friends for many many years.  Rachelle was in my Young Life club.  They feel like family and we love knowing that we get to share life with them for many years to come.

We’re off to sunny Florida this evening.  Yay for warmth!!!!

Warmly,

It has risen, It has risen indeed…

Yesterday was Easter.  And the good news is, He has risen!  Steve and I tried to focus on that and be joyful in it.  And then……our dogs got so joyful that they ate 2 huge chocolate bunnies, a pack of cadberry eggs, and 6 twix bars while we were gone to the grocery store last night.

We called the vet, got some advice, and went to work.  Funny thing is, the dogs weren’t as joyful at having hydrogen peroxide poured down their throats.  Nor were they as joyful when IT ROSE back up.  EVERYWHERE!  IT ROSE in about 10 different piles in our yard.  IT ROSE with full twix wrappers and half of a chocolate bunny box.  Oh how it ROSE.  IT even ROSE once in the house.

That, my friends, is how you finish your Easter Sunday.  It’s a good reminder that He is Risen!  Well, maybe not a good reminder, but the truth is that even when your dogs are puking more than you could ever imagine, it’s tough to lose your joy on Easter!

We hope you experienced the Risen One this Easter!

Grateful for you,

Leslie
